Description

Yawanawà Moy is a strong and powerful Tsunu type Rapé. Tabaco de Moy (Moi, Tabaco de Moi, Brazilian Mapacho) and Tsunu ashes are the basis of this particular blend. Tabaco de Moy is produced in Brazil around the state of Acre in the city of Sena Madureira. The seeds of this special Tobacco have been passed down from father to son over generations and it belongs to the species of Nicotiana Rustica. It is very similar to Mapacho, while the Tobaco de Moy is stronger and darker.

As with all Yawanawà Rapè smaller doses are advised due to the strong effects. This blend has its own particular flavour and scent, exuding warrior energy and powerful focus upon the user, which is a common intention among the Yawanawá tribes peoples. Some powder will likely make its way into the back of the throat as with most Rapé’s and is best taken in a sacred setting with time to readjust afterwards.

This is yet another new creation from our neo-shamanic specialist in the field in Brazil. All the base ingredients were collected from the indigenous and mixed in the traditional way.

This is an extremely fine powder. It takes great effort to produce such a fine powder at a 150 micron fineness. This is our standard because this provides the best Rapé experience. All of our products we process to a high standard and consistent fineness, using laboratory grade sieves and milling equipment.

About the tribe
The Yawanawá, or the tribe of the white-lipped peccary, are a small tribe of 1,300 people, living remotely in only a few villages along the Gregório River. They are known as warriors, as they always keep on fighting, even in hard times. At some point in history their tribe was almost extinct, with only about 300 members left. Nowadays their tribe has grown again, and their traditions and knowledge have been conserved in a very strict way.

The Yawanawá were the first tribe that initiated a woman to become a shaman, setting a huge example in the history of shamans. In their language rapé is called Rume and the Yawanawá preferably blend Rume with Tsunu ashes and Mapacho, which gives this special blend a very refined taste. In addition, Tsunu ashes are used for healing purposes and have a supportive role during Ayahuasca ceremonies.

Moy Tobacco is produced in Brazil around the state of Acre in the city of Sena Madureira. The people that live around these areas are called the „Ribeirinhos" or river dwellers, who used to be rubber tappers and nowadays mostly make a living on farming and collecting. The seeds of this special kind of Tobacco have been passed down from father to son over generations and it belongs to the widely known species of Nicotiana Rustica. It is very similar to Mapacho, while the Tobaco de Moy is stronger and darker. This is the reason why many indigenous people use this type of Tobacco for Rapé, which is very popular throughout the state of Acre. The Tobaco de Moy is Maso is longer in size than the Mapacho Maso and more dense in its structure due to the process of fermentation.

It has been grown organically in the jungles of Brazil. Chemicals are not neccessary as Tobacco itself is a great fertilizer and commonly used insecticide among the farmer communities. After the harvest the largest veins of the leaves are removed, then dried and rolled up. The farmers then wrap the bunch of tobacco leaves up with a strip of natural latex or rubber and these bundles will then be left for half a year up to a whole year to mature and ferment. This way of storing and keeping the Tobacco is very specific for the area of Acre in Brazil. In other regions the farmers use ropes to tighten the bundle of Tobacco leaves together. This Tobacco is traditionally used for Rapé, as in the ranges of Acre there is a lot of cultural background for the use of Rapé.
